5Penn Plaza wanted a electric and buzzing website to attract new leasees to join their neighborhood in Manhattan. Working on the floor plan assets from the branding team, the UX team tried incorporating elements such as the gradient headers and image borders. We also wanted potential leasees to know exactly which amenities were being offered, what floors were available, and what other buildings were in the area.
This client provided us with the keywords bold, ambitious, sophisticated, then just handed us the reigns and said they trust us to come up with the designs. After some brainstorming and wireframing, my mentor and I decided to use large, heavy white text that would contrast against a pure black background, creating that bold yet sophisticated look. The text overlay treatment on the background is a interesting visual point while the users are guided through key sections through by the thoughtful visual hierarchy and layout.
